There are many good Persian breeders in the United States and world wide. There are also many misunderstandings about what makes a good breeder when you're looking for quality Persian kittens for sale and Himalayan kittens for sale .
Just because a Persian breeder doesn't show, doesn't make it a "backyard breeder" as many show breeders portend. Personally, while I try and produce better and better CFA standard Persians, I have no interest in showing. As many show breeders have told me, cats that are being shown need to be caged at home, so they don't think they're being "punished" while at a show. Also, the focus of show breeders is keeping the "best" kitten for themselves for showing, so the focus is not on what kittens for sale the breeder has for others; rather the kittens for sale that they offer, they don't consider the "best." My focus is showing my kittens very early, at around two weeks when they're eyes open, and find their homes as early as possible. What I love, rather than collecting ribbons, is staying in touch with the people who have bought my kittens through email and phone. I take new pictures every ten days or so, and it's so much fun to share in the ongoing excitement of people waiting to take their baby home.
Most show Persian breeders love and care for the feline brood, they just have different reasons for why they are breeding. This is a business, not a hobby for me. But like any good business person, I do my utmost to deliver the best "furry product" and give the best customer care. If, on the other hand, a breeder sees their breeding as only a hobby, I wonder if they are as motivated to do their very best for the "customer?"
